Gillespie weekend take 2!

These are some pictures from the weekend with my parents, see previous post, that we thought we had lost. Trey & Grandpa spent the afternoon doing puzzles and reading books.

Me and mom!
All weekend Kaden was dying to get my dad's glasses off of him so we finally let him have them. I hate to say it but he looks a little Kip...'don't be jealous cause I've been chatting on-line with babes all day".

Weekend with Gr & Gr Gillespie

Last weekend we had a great visit with my mom and dad. Saturday we went to Tilden Park and had a great picnic and then we went the little farm where we got to feed pigs, goats, sheep, ducks and cows.

Trey & Grandpa Gillespie had such a great time together. At home Trey and Grandpa loved doing puzzle's and reading books. Trey said he can't wait to go read Grandpa's books!
While we were feeding the goats Trey had gone over to the side where one goat was laying next to the fence but wouldn't eat. As I got closer I realized Trey was actually singing 'I Am A Child Of God' to try and help the goat go to sleep.
This is kind of a random shot but it was really cute. One night we had corn on the cob and Kaden seemed to love it too since he worked on the one for about an hour. It was a great weekend despite a few moments with sick kids we had a great time relaxing. Thanks for coming out mom and dad. We love you!!

Christmas In July

While Trey was waiting at the top of the stairs he was so excited he could hardly hold still.
We brought him down with his eyes covered and there set up was Trey's dream come true.
A THOMAS TRAIN TABLE & LOTS OF NEW TRAINS!! When I uncovered his eyes he just stood there for a second and looked up at me and said "Thank you mommy". I thought for sure that I saw tears of joy in his eyes, it was very adorable. Kaden has become a little train fan as well and seemed very excited. I think he just liked the fact that he could pull himself up and play with Trey.
Now a lot of you are probably wondering how starving college students can afford toys that cost more then most people's monthly house payments? And the answer is they don't. This Christmas is just on loan and will be the time of Trey's life while it lasts! Thanks Jed & Marie!

The Heat Is On

Last week Jeff had three days off for his summer break so we thought it would be nice to get out and enjoy the great weather. Unfortunately the weather turned out to be 100+ degrees and not so great. :( So after many trips to the pool, A LOT of ice pops and a few more trips to the pool we thought a trip into the city would be a nice way to cool down. We packed a lunch and got ready for the beach and by the time we got over there it was windy and cold and definitely not a day for the beach. Since we were already there we decided to stop at Fort Point at the base of Golden Gate Bridge. Really cool, really cold!!

For day 2 we drove up to Windsor and met up with Grandpa and Grandma Chem, Jeff's grandparents, who were nice enough to take us to Armstrong Woods for a beautiful picnic. It is an amazing redwood forest with trees so tall you can't see the tops of them. Trey loved all the holes in the trees and thought they were great hiding spots

After lunch we headed down to Doran Beach at Bodega Bay and although it was a little cool it was so much fun. This was Kaden's first time at the beach and he LOVED it. The water was a little cold but no one seemed to mind.

Trey, who in the past won't touch the water or even the wet sand, couldn't be pulled out of the water. At one point a wave came in up to his chest and he just laughed, splashed around, and ran right back in for more!

In the "end" it was a great couple of days!!

Tide Pooling & Pigeon Point Lighthouse

A few weeks ago we went tide pooling at Moss beach, 20 min south of San Francisco. It was quite the adventure with two little boys. Trey loved it and Kaden was just really heavy to carry on slippery wet rocks but he loves being outside.
Trey is just like his dad, has to try everything once and has very little fear. That is something that I love about both of them.

Trey loved the water and was wet in the first ten minutes we were there. His favorite were the sea urchins and sticking them with rocks and watching the water shoot out of them.

The pictures really don't show the beauty of sea life. It was so amazing!!

Pigeon Point Lighthouse is a 30 minutes south of Moss beach. It is an old lighthouse that is no longer used but very cool. The view was amazing.
To the side of the lighthouse the cliffs were covered with blooming cactus flowers as far as your eyes could see. Trey has turned into a little poser and is ready at all times for you to take a picture of him. He is such a fun little boy and always up for an adventure.
