Kaden's Turn...

So, Jeff has taken Trey snowshoeing a few times this year, but since we only have one smaller pair of snowshoes he couldn't take both boys at the same time. Kaden, of course, has been wanting to go because he hears about how much fun Trey and his dad have when they drudge through the snow...
Fortunately, Jeff had a half-day last week and surprised Kaden when he picked him up from school and they headed up to the mountains to a spot just outside of Conifer.
Kaden was quite a chatter box during the hike, and never complained of being cold. Probably because Jeff keeps these boys walking whenever they go on their adventures...
About to throw a snow ball at his dad...
Every chance he got, Kaden was venturing off trail in to the deeper snow...

Again, sure going to miss the Rockies!

Feeling the Love

I can't think of a better way to spend Valentines day than with these cuties!
We started the day off right with boxes of chocolates. I am pretty sure they were consumed before I even got breakfast on the table!
Everyone got a little something they love...princess lipstick...
 ...Legos...
...and more Legos!
Kaden got to make a Valentines box for school so we made a T-Rex, of course!! It's a shame this tradition is fading away in the schools.
Kaden got the stash on one of his Valentine cards and Avrey thought it was one of the funniest things ever! Valentines day is always fun and a great reminder of the people we love!!

Fresh Powder...

To escape the 60 degree heat have, Jeff and Trey went snow shoeing in the Jones Pass area. We'd been camping up there in the past, and it was fun for them to see the same area with a lot of snow.
In the summer, this is a big creek, but right now a good portion of the trail goes on to top of it since it's frozen. Trey got a kick out of this section because they could see water running underneath the ice.
 Just being a boy...

 Looking west.
Jeff took this one looking south as they were traversing a little meadow while "making a trail of their own" through a couple feet of snow. He said bringing water was a waste because of how much snow Trey would eat!
Every time they come home Jeff says he's impressed with how much Trey can do. Sure going to miss the Rocky Mountains!
