Is it really January??

Two weeks ago Jeff had an afternoon off so the boys and I decide to meet him in San Francisco and spend the afternoon at the beach. We went to Ocean Beach and even though we have been there a lot of times this was the first time it was warm and sunny! The water was freezing but that didn't seem to stop our boys!

While we were sitting there it dawned on us...it's January, it's 70 degrees and we are playing at the beach. Why are we moving away from here??
Trey and Kaden could spend hours playing in the sand. We ended up burying Trey a few times so he would stop throwing buckets of water at me. Little stinker!! :)
It was such a wonderful afternoon and hopefully we will get plenty of beach time in between now and June!

Bedtime Stories

When your husband is gone before the kids wake up, in surgery all day and home just in time to tell your kids a bedtime story about his day this is a conversation you might have.

Mom: Trey stay right by me there are lots of cars in the parking lot.
Trey: Yeah and the cars go really fast and they can hit you.
Mom: That's right and we don't want to get hit cause that would hurt.
Trey: And if you get hit really hard then the car will just smash you.
Mom: That's right. We don't want to get smashed so stay by me.
Trey: The cars will just come and they will smash us and flatten us and then we would have to go to daddy's and get surgery and he will cut us open.
Mom: Let's just stay by mom and be safe.
Trey: Well if we had to get surgery at least we would get to see daddy!!

Our Little Sunbeam

So I am a few days late but Trey became a Sunbeam this week and I wanted to share some pictures of his excitement!! I thought he would have such a hard time leaving nursery because he had such awesome teachers, but he did pretty good. He was sad not to see his nursery teachers but was happy to finally be with the "big" kids! It's kind of weird to finally have a "big" kid!!

Christmas Morning!!

Wide awake and anxiously awaiting to go downstairs!
Kaden got sick of waiting and decided to look for some different presents!!
My view was priceless!! There is no greater gift then seeing the excitement on your kids, & husbands face!!
Their view... well it was worth running for!!
Santa brought Kaden a play kitchen set and brought Trey additional Thomas tracks!
They went straight for the stockings! Trey was excited to see Milano cookies, Starburst's and Lightning McQueen coloring supplies.
Kaden loved it all but seemed to be more worried about how to get the box of crackers open!

The boys got some wonderful books from aunts, uncles and cousins!
Man Toy #1: Jeff got a new hand held GPS system to use while he is out on his running and biking adventures.

I was more then a little spoiled this year. Jeff got me a new camera which couldn't have been more perfect since our camera started taking weird messed up photos Christmas eve. I was also VERY spoiled with a new vacuum and might I just say cleaning has never been so fun. You might think all vacuums are created equal, well they're not!!

Both the boys were so excited about every gift they opened. It ended up being a Lightning McQueen Christmas for Trey, and Kaden ended up with a little bit of everything from blocks to cars!
Man Toy #2: a new iPOD portable speaker!
Christmas outfits from Gram & Grandpa!

'Twas the night before Christmas

The stockings were hung on the wall with care!
Cute Christmas PJ's and I am not sure, but I think they are a little excited!! Trey was actually so excited that it took him two hours to finally go to sleep. He kept coming out of his room giving Jeff thumbs up saying, "I'm going to sleep so Santa can come".
We made so many Christmas treats that day I totally forgot to make cookies. So Santa got an orange cream roll at our house instead!!
Earlier that day we decided to start a new tradition and take a treat to someone who has to work during the holidays so this time we picked the local fire department. Trey was so excited that we even got to see the fire trucks so you can only imagine his happiness when they asked him if he wanted to get in and turn the lights on!

It was a quiet Christmas eve but we were all joyful to have a day together as a family.

Christmas a week away!

A few photos to show us getting ready for the wonderful Christmas holiday! While asleep Kaden was singing, 'all I want for Christmas is SEVEN teeth!' Poor little guy had seven teeth, 3 being molars, coming in all at the same time. For 3 days he wouldn't eat or sleep so any time he did finally sleep we left him where ever he landed!
Trey and his friend Logan played Angels in the Nativity for the ward Christmas party! I am not sure if you can tell but I don't think Trey is too excited about his outfit??
Sitting on the "Big Guys" lap took a little convincing this year. We had been telling Trey for the last little while that if he was bad then Santa would bring him a rock for Christmas. Turns out Trey was really scared that he was going to get a rock and wanted nothing to do with Santa! Once he saw that the other kids were getting treat bags he quickly changed his mind.
Setting up the Christmas tree. Trey was so proud of himself that he got to put the star on top!
Kaden being a good little helper with the lights!
