A few of my new favorite things...

Moving into a new place can be scary, especially if you've never seen it. Jeff and I, however, totally lucked out and found a really great place that we love. The outside is very New Mexico; not my favorite but since I spend most of my time inside who cares, right? This is our 6th place in 7 years of marriage, and our first that was built before 1970 so please don't think I am bragging, especially since a lot of you are sitting in homes and not apartments!
The living room is the basic view as you walk in the front door. Nothing too fancy other than I'm happy not to have stark white walls anymore! And who knew the crown molding could be so exciting!
The kitchen is open to the living room which is nice, and makes it seem a lot more roomy!
My favorite hallway next to the kitchen we have a huge pantry and our new little babies. I know a lot of you probably don't get excited about your washer and dryer but after three years of coin op laundry you would. I was so happy today when I was making pancakes and threw in a load at the same time...PRICELESS!!
Toy room part 2! The day after we moved in we noticed a weird smell coming from the second bedroom and the more time we spent in there it just seemed to get worse. Long story short, the last person who lived here had a poorly potty trained cat. We asked the office if there was any way they would come clean the carpet again and instead they just wanted to replace it. We were very happy about it although we had to move every thing out for a day but it was worth it to get rid of the urine potpourri. (Reason# 65 why we will never have a cat!
We thought that since we now have three bedrooms we would split the boys up, but we thought a toy room would be more useful. Here are the boys enjoying their new room!

It's always funny in apartments because they say there is a "Master Bedroom" but really it's the same size as the other rooms so there really isn't anything masterful about it. Well, not here. We also have our bathroom which is so nice with a HUGE walk-in closet that I realized yesterday is bigger then our old kitchen! We are very pleased with our new little place and know that we will enjoy what time we have to live here!

Home Sweet Albuquerque!!

Well, we made it to New Mexico in one piece so I thought I would share some pictures of our adventures of getting here! Thursday the 21st Jeff took his last final in the morning and headed home so we could start the big move. We got the truck that afternoon and the boys had so much fun playing in it, which made it hard to pack.
I am lucky enough to have one of the best sisters in the world! Laura came out from Utah to help us with the boys. They had so much fun with her and Jeff and I both know there is no way we could have done this without her. She is awesome! Thursday night we had a bunch of friends and guys from the ward come out and help us pack up the truck. What could have taken us all night ended up taking about 45 minutes, we are very grateful!
Friday morning we woke up early and finished packing the last minute things. We made one last stop at our favorite, Johnny's Donuts in Lafayette for breakfast and then made the 12 hour drive to Kingman, AZ where we stopped for the night.
Along the way there we so many great sights to see. Trey loved all of the trains!
This was my view out the rear view mirror. Laura, the boys, and I were in one car and Jeff followed behind us in the moving truck pulling his car as well. 1100 miles later we were finally here and so excited to be out of the car! The boys did great and were so excited to see their new house! Not 5 minutes after we pulled the moving truck in we had 7 or 8 people from our new ward here helping us unload just in time for an afternoon thunderstorm which made it all the more fun!
Our first night here I think it is safe to say we were all more then a little tired. We got beds set up, and as you can see we all crashed!
Our first morning here we were welcomed in true Albuquerque style. We sat down to eat breakfast and noticed out the back door the sky was filled with hot air balloons! We are really excited to be here and glad that we made it here safe. I will post some pictures of our new place once it looks cute!

Super Franks is Super Awesome

Last week a friend and I took our kids to this place called Super Franks and it was so awesome! It's a play place for kids...and moms!! They have three fun rooms filled with different things for the kids to play on. Here Logan and Trey raced around on the little scoter / go carts in a huge open gym. It was so nice because each of the rooms are closed off so the kids can just run around and you know they can't get out!!
I also took a turn on the scooters!
In another room they had cute little houses with dress-ups, cars to drive around, jump houses, slides and train tables. The best part about this room was all the toys went around the walls and then in the middle of the room were wonderful leather chairs for the parents to sit in. It was almost heaven on earth!!
Kaden loved all the "BEEP - BEEP" cars!!
In another room they had more cars, tables and slides. The boys had so much fun pushing each other around. I am so sad that I found out about this place the week before we move. We had so much fun I would seriously go here every week if I could!

And down the stretch they come...

Last weekend Jeff and I attended his school Junior Dinner that was held at Golden Gate Fields in Berekley, (aka: the horse races!) It was truly a one of a kind date! We had the best view of the whole field from the Directors Room where we got an all you can eat buffet of the most delicious food. As you can see here we won the award for best dressed couple! :)
"The Trumpet Guy" played before each race.
And they're off! We weren't expecting the horses to be so loud as they ran by, but my goodness! We were both amazed at how muscular these animals are. Incredible horses to say the least.
The view from the Directors Room where we spent most of our time.
One of the races was dedicated to Jeff's class. Here, a few of them got a photo with the Jockey who won that race. Having never been to something like this before we weren't quite sure what to expect, especially since we don't roll with the gambling crowd. WIth that said, we had a great time visiting with classmates, mingling with Jeff's professors, enjoying a very unique afternoon with great food and entertainment, and no we didn't bet on any races!
